Unlike 100% photographic products, all items with covers/coatings (Albums, Boxes, or other accessories) allow the application of customizations through a "Custom Template" available as an option for each product on Express. To ensure production prints exactly as intended, all customizations must strictly be built and submitted using our official masks (templates). Follow this 3-step process to ensure your file's success:
1. Obtain the Correct Template (Mask) The physical dimensions of products like Albums and Boxes are not fixed. The spine width and the box structure vary depending on the number of spreads, paper type, and paper thickness (grammage).
You do not need to have the album's inner layout finished, but the 3 points above must be defined beforehand.
Access our website, under Help > Downloads.
Select the model corresponding to your order's characteristics and download the mask.
2. Design Creation (External Software)
Open the downloaded mask in Photoshop.
Place your design within the safety margins indicated on the template.
File Formats: For Laser Engraving or UV Printing, it must strictly be saved as a vector file (PDF, AI, or EPS). Requirements: Ensure that texts and elements are converted to curves/outlines (to prevent typography loss).
3. Application in the Express App
In our application, after configuring your project and reaching the exterior design step, choose the "Custom Template" option.
Upload the PDF/vector file you prepared in the previous step. The system will link this file to your order, allowing production to execute it exactly as you envisioned.
⚠️ Important Notes:
UV Printing: Keep in mind that the base cover color influences the final result (e.g., light colors on a dark fabric may present a different contrast than expected).
Verification: Thoroughly check the spelling and details of your vector file before ordering. The design will be printed/engraved exactly as sent.
Customization vs. Cover compatibilities: Each cover material may allow different customizations. Check the price list on the compatibility page or our website to see which customizations are available for each type of cover material.
